Maybe this will help with my writing. As an aspiring writer, I direct all of my hopes and ambitions to becoming the finest writer my prowess is capable to become. Setting aside all of my distractions (phone, Internet, the new camera I just purchased, etc.), I am reserving my utmost attention to writing. For how long? The rest of my life. When? Right now. I made a Blogger in order practice, practice and practice writing and to harness the expertise of writing--obviously, I won't become a writer overnight simply because of the fact I made a blog, however this will be a primary source of my applications to new ideas, beliefs, methods and what not in order to teach myself firsthand. And let's be honest, writing is a lovely outlet.
Who knows? Maybe some day I'll be a published author living in New York City with my husband to-be. But that's all a foggy dream in the very distant future.
That reminds me, let me introduce myself. Hi, I'm Ryan Donato and I'm a student from upstate New York, where the streets are quiet and you can list my town's accomplishments on the back of a stamp. I play various instruments from piano to stand-up bass and played bass guitar in band. I have a hard time saying no to petting a dog or eating burritos. Simply, I am ordinary.
I am a writer up to my elbows. Although I thoroughly, almost romantically (yeah), enjoy writing and aspire to be a writer, I hardly consider myself a writer. I don't know if I ever will completely, even on published paper. Have you ever met a writer before? I have never even met someone who knew a writer. As if they are some mythological demi-god sent to Earth to inspire, but never to be seen. My religion is Edgar Allan Poe. My God is Hemingway. My beliefs and methods are Fitzgerald and Kafka. The air that fills my lungs is the glorious rush of cummings' work when standing atop of a ziggurat built on my hopes and dreams. My anger and distraught is Bukowski. I sound pretentious, but all newborn writing is. You'll see what I mean.
So, with high hopes (for a second time in my life), I hope you enjoy the everyday life I transcribe here.
-Ryan
